Rare DR. CORNET'S ASPIRIN DISPENSER Cast IRON & Tin VENDING MACHINE 1932 Coin-OP
CORNET’S ASPIRIN DISPENSER Cast IRON & Tin VENDING MACHINE 1932 Coin-OP. Unit dispensed a 5 cent HANDY PACK cylinder of aspirin which maybe contained up to 5 tablets, don’t really know as never seen an original handy-pack cylinder/tube. They produced this model and this model only in the year 1932, this is one of the few known examples that exist today, just google dr. Cornet aspirin machine – enough said. Nice looking red on yellow graphics on the yellow colored painted litho tin cylinder that has advertising and the J. Now, I’ve had 1 other of these great looking machines in the past 25 years and maybe seen 2 or 3 others at various shows, so, they are rare and SO VERY HARD TO FIND , especially with nice looking basically problem free graphics – this one has the better graphics of the two I’ve owned – I’m downsizing my collection now, so its time to sell – this one needs to find another good home. Works just great, put a US 5 cent nickel in the slot, pull the red lever out and it functions correctly, would have dispensed a handy pack of aspirin if loaded – I even went so far as to cut several 1/2 inch x 7/8 inch wooden dowel pieces to approximate the original aspirin content tube size just to check correct functionality, everything works fine, each nickel inserted rotates the internal 9 slot cannister chamber/cylinder and dispenses 1 each aspirin tube/cylinder – I will include all the wooden dowels that I described above, probably 12-15 or so cut pieces – would be cool to paint up and decal like original aspirin tubes, but left up to new owner. Dispenser measures about 10-1/2 inches high by 7 inches in depth from the front dispenser chute area, very heavy too due to the many cast iron pieces. Comes with 2 small working NOS EAGLE. Brand padlocks and 2 keys marked Eagle, I think these are all original to the unit as this exact same type and size lock was on the other earlier unit I had in my. Now, I think the rubber feet have been replaced but, other than that, looks all original and sure of this as I’ve had the other unit to compare from the past. Cornet paper label exists on the coin drop inside bottom door/panel but you can still see where it was originally applied. Paper label, wish I’d taken a good photo for posterity. Could have places repainted but not 100% sure, would have been a long time ago and definitely not recent, looks pretty much like the other unit I had for color and the typical paint loss places that exist on the lid, so I think its unrestored and all original except for the rubber feet. Chances are pretty good, you won’t get the opportunity to grab another in this nice of original unrestored condition. Absolutely wonderful and rare coin operated Aspirin machine for your coin op, Medicine, Doctor, Gas Station, or General store related collection. The item “Rare DR.
