1958 VENDO 56 ROUND TOP COKE MACHINE – PROFESSIONALLY RESTORED. He didn’t want to run it because then it would get dirty. And he didn’t want anyone playing with it because he. I plugged it in for about an hour today and the cooler hums nicely and it is ice cold, the chrome and stainless is bright, the paint is very nice though there are a couple small chips by the door. The light in the door isn’t working I don’t know why. The Vendo-56 is a “Slant Shelf” machine which means it can vend all sorts of drinks in 8 oz and/or 12 oz bottle sizes. Next it came in the two tone paint scheme – DuPont Iceberg White on Top – Red Bottom and lettering. Another popular feature of the 56 is its small size and weight. There were 3 coin mechanisms available for the Vendo 56. 1st can be set to 5 or 10 cent but takes only nickels. 2nd can be set to 5 or 10 cents and will take 2 nickels or a dime. This Coke Machine has the most desirable coin mechanism, it will take Nickels, Dimes, or Quarters and gives change.
