Vintage Chicago Transit Authority Streetcar Coin Changer with Fare Counter

Both pieces are stamped “CTA”. The Coin Changer has hooks on each end to hang from a leather belt. There are 5 barrels which all work smoothly: Quarter, Nickel, Dime, single Pennies, and 5 Pennies. There is a removable piece that allows the 4th barrel to dispense 1 penny at a time (see photo). The Fare Counter works. The glass over the counter is intact and the bell. Gives off a sharp “ding” each time the lever is flipped. It is rare to find this combination of. Pieces is excellent with minor scratches but no rust. Please examine the photos to see what. Could use a good cleaning and lubrication. Run the back brackets through your belt to wear on your waist. There are six coin slots and 3 bill slots. Looks like the coin slots are for half dollar, quarter, dime, nickel and penny. The taller barrel is smaller than a dime. Not sure what coin would fit there. Cleveland/Johnson Fare Box with original lock & key & a working view light

Pre 1950’s fare box. Original 4 sided lock, complete with the very hard to find original key. Also has original working night light and a 12 volt transformer to plug in any standard outlet to light it up. Light has an off switch. A magnetic coin changer also comes with this box. The inside coin box has been replaced with a coin tray to simply slide the coins out into your hand one the door is opened. Accepts all coins and drops the coins to the coin tray inside via the side lever. These boxes are often used for fundraising collection boxes, tip boxes, cuss box, savings bank, etc. This is a nice one. NO PO BOX DELIVERIES PLEASE.
